Her name is Taylor Swift
and she was born in 1989...

Taylor Alison Swift, born December 13, 1989, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, director and screenwriter. She was born in a small town in the state of Pennsylvania, United States, she performed for the first time singing the national anthem at the age of 12, in a game of the Detroit Pistons basketball team. It was also at this age that she wrote her first song, Lucky You.At age 14, he moved to Nashville, where he signed a contract with RCA Records. However, he left the label a year later due to the imposed limitations and the desire to release an album of his own. In 2005, aged 15, he caught the attention of Dreamworks Records executive Scott Borchetta, who was about to leave the company to launch his own independent production company, Big Machine Records. Taylor became one of the first affiliates. In October 2006, at the age of 16, Swift released her debut album, Taylor Swift. The album — considered a success in the music industry and even praised by The New York Times — sold 39,000 copies during its first week. Tim Mcgraw, single and first track from the album, marks the singer's official debut in the industry and was released earlier in the same year.Swift began her career as a country singer, quickly rising to prominence on radio stations aimed at that audience, and became adored not only, but mainly, by the North American public. The transition from country to pop occurred slowly and progressively with Taylor: in Red (2012) it is already possible to find some songs that fit into this category, such as 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and I Knew You Were Trouble. It was only in 2014, with the album 1989, that the singer completely switched to pop.

22 minutes...

Taylor became a doctor —technically, earning her honorary doctorate from New York University with the graduating class of 2022. Swift shared a video of herself en route to the graduation ceremony, where she was the commencement speaker. And Swift gave one of her most honest, inspiring speeches yet, adding cheeky comments about her songs and career here and there, along with some very good and truthful life advice.Taylor at one point poignantly addressed how everyone will make mistakes as they go through life: “I know I sound like a consummate optimist, but I’m really not,” she started. “I lose perspective all the time. Sometimes everything just feels completely pointless. I know the pressure of living your life through the lens of perfectionism. And I know that I’m talking to a group of perfectionists because you are here today graduating from NYU. And so this may be hard for you to hear: In your life, you will inevitably misspeak, trust the wrong people, under-react, overreact, hurt the people who didn’t deserve it, overthink, not think at all, self sabotage, create a reality where only your experience exists, ruin perfectly good moments for yourself and others, deny any wrongdoing, not take the steps to make it right, feel very guilty, let the guilt eat at you, hit rock bottom, finally address the pain you caused, try to do better next time, rinse, repeat. And I’m not gonna lie, these mistakes will cause you to lose things.I’m trying to tell you that losing things doesn’t just mean losing. A lot of the time, when we lose things, we gain things too.”Listen to the entire speech here!

People haven't always been there
for me, but music always has.

Taylor Swift is her eponymous debut album, released through Big Machine Records on October 24, 2006. The album features production by Nathan Chapman, Robert Ellis Orrall and Mariana Nery, and features signature compositions by Swift herself in partnership with Liz Rose and fellow producers Orrall and Petraglia. The songs have as a lyrical theme relationships experienced by Swift and people close to her, and were written by the singer from the age of 12. The album was produced and recorded in 2006, while Swift was in her 1st year of high school.

Fearless (Taylor's Version) is the first re-recorded album by Swift, released on April 9, 2021, through Republic Records. It is a re-recording of Swift's second studio album, Fearless (2008), and the first in a series of six re-recorded albums Swift planned to release, following a dispute over ownership of the masters of her first six studio albums.

Containing 22 tracks, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was written solely by Swift. It includes re-recorded versions of 16 songs from the deluxe edition of Speak Now and six previously unreleased "From the Vault" songs. The lyric change in "Better than Revenge" was a common point of contention in reviews, with most critics calling it unnecessary. Others appreciated the change, opining that it is line with Swift's changed perspective as a grown woman.

Comprising 30 tracks, Red (Taylor's Version) spans re-recorded versions of 20 songs from Red's deluxe edition and Swift's charity single "Ronan" (2012); nine new tracks "from the Vault" that were intended for the 2012 album; including a 10-minute, uncut version of the fan-favorite "All Too Well"; and Swift's own versions of "Better Man" (2016) and "Babe" (2018), both written by Swift but recorded and released by American country music bands Little Big Town and Sugarland, respectively.

Swift recorded 1989 at studios across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. The synth-pop production is characterized by pulsing synthesizers, programmed drums, and processed backing vocals, a stark contrast to the acoustic arrangements of Swift's past albums. Expanding on Swift's autobiographical songwriting, the tracks explore failed romance from a lighthearted perspective and departs from the attitude of her previous songs.

Reputation is the sixth studio album by Taylor, It was released on November 10, 2017, and was her last album under Big Machine Records. Swift conceived the album during her self-seclusion from public appearances as an effect of the rampant tabloid scrutiny on her private life and celebrity. She split the album's lyrical scope in two: one is about the downsides of fame and the resultant anger, and the other about love amidst the tumult.

Lover is the seventh studio album by Taylor. Its release took place on August 23, 2019, through Republic Records. Following the release of her previous album Reputation (2017), described as a "defense mechanism" to deal with the tumultuous experience of her public life, Swift ended her twelve-year contract with Big Machine Records. While touring the world with the Reputation Stadium Tour (2018), the artist was able to experience the love of her fans which helped her recover her mental health after the controversies that led to Reputation. Based on this, she began to conceptualize an album that would showcase her personal, vulnerable side, connecting her with her audience and showcasing her strengths as an artist, as well as channeling her readjusted personal life and the liberation of her public perception. Described by Swift as a "love letter to self-love", the artist chose to use Lover in the album's title, revealing a more loving side, in addition to better encompassing her concept in general. Unlike Reputation, which contained a hip hop-influenced sound and dealt with more obscure issues, Lover celebrates the full spectrum of love, using bright, clear tones.

Folklore marks a new direction for Swift, moving away from the pop and more commercial sounds of her latest work, as well as the country that accompanied her early in her career, deriving from underexplored genres such as indie folk and chamber pop, as well as as elements of alternative rock. Because it was conceived during a period of social isolation, lyrically, the album manifests a vivid narrative that channels escapism, nostalgia, loneliness and introspection.

Evermore is the singer's ninth studio album, and its release took place on December 11, 2020. The impressionist narrative and mythopoeia dominate its lyrical technique. The subject has been described as an anthology of stories about love, marriage, infidelity and grief, exploring the complexities of human emotion. US bands Bon Iver, Haim and the National appear as guest artists on the album.

Midnights is Taylor's tenth studio album, released on October 21, 2022, through Republic Records. The album was announced during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, marking Swift's first new release following her alternative folk albums Folklore and Evermore (2020). Midnights is a concept album that explores nocturnal reflections inspired by Swift's "sleepless nights" and addresses themes such as anxiety, insecurity, self-criticism, self-awareness, insomnia and self-confidence, using confessional and at the same time enigmatic lyrics. The disc was developed and recorded between 2021 and 2022 and the artist worked with her longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff.
